You’ve watched her on TV, you may have seen her on a bar stool, you could even follow her on Twitter. Fiona Forbes is one of Vancouver’s leading ladies. Her career has followed one of those paths that some people merely dream of. She’s living her dreams and smiling at life.
What’s your tale?
I’m a Canadian television personality who currently hosts the award-winning entertainment talk show Urban Rush in Vancouver. I’ve done over fifteen thousand interviews with top names from the worlds of film, television, music, literature, sports and pop culture. Along the way I’ve been schooled in politics from Arnold Schwarzenegger…music and hockey from Michael Buble…booty-pops from the Pussycat Dolls and learned to play the drums with GLEE’S Cory Montieth.
I received a degree in History from the University of British Columbia and had planned to go to Law School. Instead, on a whim I enrolled in the Journalism Program at The British Columbia Institute of Technology. Before graduating from the program, I got my first job as a TV Host by accident when I auditioned as a dare and landed my first on camera gig.
Favourite bar stool?
Any bar stool where there’s good friends, good wine and good conversation.
What are you drinking at said bar stool?
A big bold cabernet. Or an extra dirty martini.
Most interesting conversation you’ve had with a stranger.
Had a wonderful conversation with a stranger in London recently over an extra dirty martini.
What’s your most memorable moment on a bar stool?
Any time I’m laughing with my BFFs!
Best line ever used by or to you.
“I wanna wear your ass as a hat.” is the line my ex-boyfriend used on me. Somehow it worked – we were together for five years. Definitely a hilarious ice-breaker!
Do you sit at bars alone?
I’ll sit in a bar alone if I’m in another city – love to people watch that way! I don’t do it often as a girl sitting alone in a bar can be a creep magnet!
If you could have a drink with anybody, who would it be?
The man of my dreams.
What’s your dream?
I’m living it!
