There are hundreds and thousands and millions of websites curating cool content. But one that everyone should have in their readers is Live Fast Mag, a destination for aesthetic items relating to sex, fashion, art and travel. Inspiration surges through sensual photographs and whimsical wording. One could spend days exploring the enticing and often steamy pages.
Vivianne Lapointe is the brain and eyes behind Live Fast Mag. Her love for the creative is clearly shown through her online magazine, which has grown to involve a legion of editors and writers contributing beguiling content. Once a Montrealer, Vivianne how calls Los Angeles home, and knows her way around a bar stool or two.
What’s your tale?
That’s such a tough question! I feel like I’m a work in progress and that my story is just starting to really get interesting. I’m a really gutsy girl from Montreal who wanted to think bigger and make her dreams happen and when I was 22 that meant moving to New York, start from scratch in a new country and another language and pursue my vision of merging art, fashion, sex and traveling by creating for myself a job that really didn’t exist. So here I am years later, on the other side of the country (life is a race to the sun, so I chose to live in Cali), found love, started Live Fast Mag, am running a successful marketing & pr biz, still hustling to make ends meet, trying to be the best woman that I can be.
Favourite bar stool and why?
Here in Los Angeles I have to say the Bowery on Sunset and Vine.
What are you drinking at said bar stool?
I’m a Dirty Martini girl! I like a stiff drink.
Most interesting conversation you’ve had with a stranger.
Once they find out I am from Montreal, strangers at bars systematically tell me about their stories of epic trips to Montreal. I love talking about travel memories in general. I hate when people bring up sports and politics ha!
What’s your most memorable moment on a bar stool?
That’s such a tough one to pinpoint, I have the worst memory and booze blurs everything out. But I’ll say the thought of drinking bohemians at Pravda always brings back fond memories. Or the time my girlfriend taught me about pickle chasers. Life changing
Best line ever used by or to you.
You look like a skinnier version of Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation. Works everytime!
Do you sit at bars alone? If so, what’s your top tip for solo bar visits? If not, why don’t you?
I do like to do my magazine clipping daytime at the bar over a nice beer or champagne cocktail. But at night, I like to roll with my man or with a bunch of girlfriends.
If you could have a drink with anybody, who would it be?
Male, Trent Reznor – Female, Gwen Stefani.
What’s your dream in life?
I dream to be very successful making artists and creatives I believe in very successful. Also want to have my own lingerie line!
