Popular anonymous bloggers, Tales from a Bar Stool, and local music blog, Winnie Cooper, present young Hollywood to Vancouver when Electric Owl Social Club hosts the Tribe of Zebras for one tempestuous evening on September 16, 2011.
Tribe of Zebras are the latest DJ talent out of Los Angeles, California. Comprised of Amika Akaya and Austin Wedvick, the Tribe mixes original music and remixes tracks by favourite artists, such as Radiohead and Local Natives, to produce indie electro tunes that keep everyone dancing until dawn. They hold coveted weekend residencies at Teddy’s in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and the Hollywood W Hotel, where they regularly spin for the celebrities of young Hollywood.
You never know who’s going to appear in the crowd at a Tribe of Zebras show.
